The APS and CBC Radio-Canada have reached a tentative agreement for the renewal of the collective agreement for a period of four years.

A new agreement as of April 1, 2025.

In negotiations since mid-November 2024, at the rate of several meetings per week, the representatives of the Association and the employer gave themselves the mission of concluding an agreement for the renewal of the collective agreement before the holiday season, if possible. On December 19 we succeeded, to the satisfaction of both parties.

We now turn to our members in good standing (voting members)

Following the agreement in principle reached at the negotiating table on December 19 between the representatives of the APS and the management of CBC Radio-Canada, a virtual assembly of the members of the APS will be organized on January 14, 2025 in order to present the content of the new agreement, which will then be submitted for acceptance to the members in good standing (voting members).

The vote will be conducted under the supervision of Big Pulse, the company which has been supervising similar consultations with members of the APS for several years. The voting period will begin on 14 January 2025 ET at 4 p.m and end at 4 p.m. ET on 21 January 2025. Only members in good standing (voting members) will have the right to vote, in accordance with the statutes and regulations of the Association.

If you wish to have your say and you are not a member in good standing (voting member), you need to fill out the membership form. Become a voting member now, it’s quick and easy.

The presentation of the new agreement will be in French from 11:00 a.m. ET on 14 January and in English from 1:00 p.m. ET on the same day. A Zoom invitation will be sent to all members in good standing (voting members).

The four-year agreement.

The APS negotiating committee concluded an agreement in principle on Thursday, December 19, 2024, formalized by the signature and approval of all members of both parties.

The APS National Executive Committee subsequently unanimously accepted the terms of this agreement on December 19, 2024, and is now recommending the new agreement to our members in good standing (voting members).

The APS Negotiating Committee was led by General Manager Sylvain Lapointe, with National Secretary David MacFarlane, Montreal local President  Sébastien Fleurant, Toronto local President Nathan Farr, Director of the Ottawa Region Anne-Marie Roy, Director of the Quebec Region Karl Plante, and of course the National President Stéphane Désautels.

The agreement, if accepted by the members, will come into force on April 1, 2025 and end on March 31, 2029.
