Both the Montreal and National Executive Committees were surprised to learn of the departure of Montreal President Isabelle Benoit who had recently succeeded Stéphane Désautels when he became APS National President. Isabelle has been promoted into the Management of the Montreal Television Production Service for the French Network also located in Montreal.
Before working as the Montreal President in APS, Isabelle was the National Treasurer following her election to the position in 2018. In that role, she presided over the advent of the Investment Policy Committee to oversee the improvement of investment practices in APS to protect and maximize returns on investments. A lasting legacy. Isabelle also played a major role in the union life of APS as a member of the National Negotiation Committee responsible for the 2016 collective agreement as well as its renewal in 2020. She was also part of the 4-member team on the National Joint Committee along with Stéphane Désautels, Nathan Farr and Sébastien Fleurant for the supervision of on-going industrial relations with the CBC Management for both Networks.
All in all, a commitment lasting over 12 years coming to an end with the announcement of her promotion.
During its meeting on January 15, 2021, the National Executive Committee took time to salute her contribution while wishing her the best in her new functions.
